Scientists at the University of Barcelona have unveiled a DNA-based therapy that dramatically lowers cholesterol by targeting the PCSK9 gene. Using polypurine hairpins, the treatment boosts cholesterol uptake, reduces arterial plaque, and promises a safer, statin-free approach.
